Sinulog festival
We were invited to attend a gathering to celebrate Sinulog at a church here in Highlands Ranch. Sinulog is a religious holiday in the Philippines that is celebrated on the third weekend every January. There were over a hundred people that attended and after visiting and meeting some new friends, we sat down when the mass started. The mass was great and the priest told some interesting and amusing stories from our native country, the Philippines. After mass, they had a video taken of the actual Sinulog Festival held in my home town of Cebu City, Cebu. As a matter of fact, my house is on the parade route and is a great spot to watch all the festivities. After the video, we all shared food that was brought by all the guests. Then, to finish the celebration, they had a group of about 20 dancers dressed in native dress uniforms and danced for probably 20 minutes or longer. We were all having a great time dancing and watching the performers. Gabby was really fascinated with all the dancing and drums being played. It was a great night overall and everyone there was very nice and fun to visit with. We look forward to attending again next year.
